At the outset of the Fullbridge Program, participants are assigned to teams of five or six members according to their unique skills and experience. Working closely together to complete assignments and projects, team members share knowledge, strengths and perspectives, immeasurably enhancing each other's learning. This unique approach challenges participants to master business skills and information within a real-world context.
Firstly, I gained a great foundation for financial analysis and valuation. Secondly, I learned more about myself and where I need to focus my energy as I look to begin my career. I also gained a new appreciation for PowerPoint presentation design and business research.—Patrick Pitoniak, Yale University ‘12
Participants then work in supervised teams to build basic business competencies and master an essential set of practical and behavioral skills. Once participants have mastered this Core Curriculum, they proceed along the Business Immersion Track (or the Entrepreneur Track for program sessions where this track is offered).
The program concludes with Career:Leader, an assessment that enables participants to clearly identify their core interests and passions in order to define a meaningful career path.
Core Curriculum learning modules include:
-
Classic Business Concepts
The program takes an analytical approach to classic business concepts like project management, business strategy and valuation, giving participants a practical framework within which to structure and execute ideas. The development of these skill sets will provide graduates with the tools to better analyze an organization's goals and strategy.
-
Financial Analysis & Valuation
Finance demystified. These modules account for over 50 hours of program content, covering key concepts such as financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, investment decisions, enterprise valuation and capital markets. Through engaging tutorials, case studies and real-world scenarios, the curriculum builds participants' fluency in the language of finance. (Note: Previous knowledge of finance is not required. Participants learn by doing, not rote memorization.)
-
Strategic Thinking in a Global Context
The ability to frame business knowledge in a broad context is of great value. Program content places an emphasis on global business trends, focusing on creative problem solving, innovation and business analysis. Participants will learn to illuminate an organization's strategic areas of consideration that are often overlooked by others.
-
Analytical Tools and Presentation Skills
Immersive tutorials in Excel and PowerPoint provide participants with solid grounding in basic technical skills, as well as opportunities to develop expertise in financial decision-making. Excel and PowerPoint will be utilized to synthesize data and deliver structured presentations in both individual and team exercises throughout the program.
-
Professional Development
Three days of the program are devoted to a multi-phase professional development experience lead by Tim Butler, Director of Career Development Programs at Harvard Business School. This 20-hour career module uses a sequence of assessments and tools to help participants gain insight into personal drivers, which are then mapped into professional pathways. Also included: hands-on resumé instruction and a considered approach to authentic networking.
